LG has stopped producing handheld tablets for some time. But the company has just launched a new type of TV, which is basically a large tablet computer on a stand.

LG StanbyME is a 27-inch display with a built-in battery that can provide up to 3 hours of viewing time. Although you can use the remote control to interact with the TV, it also supports touch input. But unlike most tablet computers, StanbyME is placed on a movable stand, and with the help of wheels, you can move from room to room.

LG said that the screen can be rotated for horizontal or vertical use. It also supports tilt and rotation, allowing you to adjust the viewing angle, whether you are on the sofa, in the kitchen or lying on the bed, you can use the bed comfortably, or almost anywhere else .

Although LG positions the device as a smart TV instead of a tablet, its user interface is designed for touch input and supports services such as KAKAO WEBTOON, and supports similar movement gestures, including taps and swipes.

LG says you can even use StanbyME for video conferencing...even though it doesn't have its own camera and microphone. Instead, a removable stand can be placed on top of the display, allowing you to use the phone’s hardware to make voice or video calls. You can mirror the display of your phone to StanbyME through wireless screen sharing (supporting Android and iOS), or use a PC with a display through USB, HDMI, or wireless connection.

There is no news about the price of LG StanbyME, when it will start selling or whether it will be launched globally. But LG plans to showcase this distinctive TV/tablet at the Consumer Electronics Show in January.

Liliputing's main source of income is advertising and affiliate links (for example, if you click on the "Shop" button at the top of the page and purchase items on Amazon, we will receive a small commission).

However, even if you use an ad blocker* and hate online shopping, you can directly support the site in many ways.
