(Pocket-lint)-Apple is said to be developing a new iPad Pro, which includes wireless charging for the first time, and the first major design update to the iPad mini in years.

Enabling wireless charging on the tablet means changing the material used on the back from metal to glass.

If it is true, it will mean that the iPad Pro will be the first iPad to get rid of the aluminum back case, which has been a standard fixture for the iPad since the first model in 2010.

Of course, due to their size, tablets are not the most convenient device to use a wireless charger. Not only is the battery taking longer to recharge, but the size of the battery makes it awkward to place it correctly on the charging pad.

However, with Apple's MagSafe ice hockey, this will not be a big problem, this is the problem currently being tested.

Apple is also testing reverse wireless charging, which theoretically allows you to charge the iPhone from the back of the iPad Pro. If implemented, this can be said to be the most convenient way to use wireless technology.

The news comes from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman (Mark Gurman), who said that the iPad Pro that supports wireless charging will be launched in 2022.

In this report, Gurman also claimed that the iPad mini will be redesigned—and eventually—will be tested with narrower bezels. Apple is also considering removing the home button to facilitate this.

We believe that through this redesign, it will make the iPad mini more compatible with iPad Air and Pro models, with uniform screen borders on all four sides.

It is said that this product will be launched with a new and thinner entry-level iPad model for students later this year. Which Apple iPad is best for you? iPad mini vs iPad vs iPad Air vs iPad Pro by Britta O'Boyle · December 14, 2021

According to Bloomberg News, if Apple's plan remains the same as it is now, it will mean three redesigns of the iPad in the next 12 months.
