I have made it clear in my previous post that I like MagSafe. After I didn't expect that I would care about it at first, I now use it specifically to charge my iPhone 12 Mini. Ever since I discovered that Apple’s MagSafe charger can also charge my AirPods Pro (thanks to ATP!), I rarely use Lightning. Of course, charging in the car is an important part of the life of iPhone users, so it is essential to install a compatible MagSafe in the car. Since the release of the iPhone 12 series, I have been using ESR HaloLock in my car, but I recently switched to Anker PowerWave, which is the best option for charging via MagSafe in the car.

Anker has another MagSafe product that combines MagSafe and AirPods chargers on my desk. When I need to use Face ID for multi-factor authentication, it is very suitable for logging in to an application.

When Anker announced PowerWave, I ordered it immediately and waited patiently for it to arrive. It only took a few minutes to unbox it, and it was a breeze to install it on my car. It has a very beautiful slot system that can be easily accessed. I have recorded a short video about it. As you can see, it slides in and locks easily, so it can be held firmly in place.

There is a USB-C slot on the bottom of PowerWave, but it includes a USB-C to USB-C cable. My car only has one USB-A port, so you need to use a cable or buy an adapter.

One thing I realized while charging wirelessly in the car was that it worked better in front of the vents, depending on the weather where I came from. Even when the car is turned off, my car’s USB port will continue to consume a small amount of power, so if the car is hot in a hot weather and I put the iPhone on it, it will usually be so hot that my iPhone will shut down To cool down. Installing a vent has solved this problem because it is cooled by the air conditioner.

Another aspect of Anker PowerWave is the strength of the magnet when I dock the iPhone. The ESR product I tried has never had a problem with the phone falling, but PowerWave does seem to be more powerful. If you use a Max-size phone with extra weight, this strength becomes even more important

The last aspect I like about Anker PowerWave is that it maintains the angle of the iPhone docking. I found that when I glanced at the map, it kept it at the perfect angle to follow on Apple Maps. My car does not have a CarPlay, so I cannot use the iPhone display to display the map while traveling. The strange thing is that it does have Siri, so I can use it to trigger new music, etc.

Anker PowerWave is a simple product. If you are looking for the best MagSafe compatible car vent bracket, look no further. It is affordable, easy to install, beautiful in appearance, and can hold your iPhone firmly in place while you are driving.
