Mountain spirit leggings. Photo: Bob Smith/Grove

50.00 GBP 160 g Pair Color: Black Size: S, M, L Manufacturing Country: Myanmar

A pair of leggings can protect your boots from the worst swamp environment and protect the lower part of your pants in the typical wet weather in the UK.

Equally important, in winter, they will prevent snow from sliding off your boots and prevent your feet from getting wet and cold.

The unisex Alpine Spirit Gaiters are made of 70 denier recycled nylon and benefit from Gore-Tex Performance membrane, which prevents moisture and aids in breathability.

The front of the leggings has a strong, wide hook and loop closure that runs through the entire length, with metal lace hooks and an elastic top hem, with drawstrings and spring buckles to hold them in place. There is also an elastic part in the ankle area and heel to tighten the leggings and prevent slapping.

The durable Hypalon plantar straps have buckle adjustments on each side.

Alpine Spirit Gaiters stood out in the recent first snow. Walking through the rafting without leggings resulted in the inevitable uncomfortable cold snow entering the boots and wet feet for the rest of the walk.

In the next few days, with Montane Gaiters wearing, the experience became more enjoyable. The white things were well kept outside the boots, and the feet were dry and warm when they came back.

Moral of the story: If you are going out in the snow, please bring a pair of leggings.

Gore-Tex fabric is also very breathable, and the leggings have a very strong feel.

Despite its small size, its sturdy structure means it has a carrying capacity of 100 kg. Helinox provides a five-year warranty for Speed Stool.

The stool is 28 cm high and we find it useful when cooking on a light stove, which means we don’t have to sit or kneel on the ground to make the process more comfortable.

We used larger Helinox seats at the base camp, but for outdoor camping trips, these seats may be a bit too big and too heavy. However, Speed Stool provides a bit of comfort in remote camps without adding too much weight-it weighs less than 500 grams in a bag-and does not take up much space.

The quality is also very good, the large legs feel very strong, and the seat fabric is also very strong. There are plastic feet on each leg, and the hinge runs freely.

Helinox Speed Stool is even worth considering as an alternative to a cushion for you to stop for lunch while walking. Its quick and easy assembly means it can be used immediately.

The plan is to plant trees to offset carbon. Photo: Bob Smith/Grove

For those outdoor people who might have everything he or she needs, or might therefore disapprove of rampant consumerism, there is a difference: Tentree's Go Climate Plus plan.

Tentree will plant trees on your behalf to offset the carbon you generate in various activities. Holiday holiday? This may generate more than 2 tons of carbon. The company will spend £3.95 to support the Climate+ Campaign and plant enough trees to compensate for the carbon generated by more than you.

The Tentree working group, such as the Eden Reforestation Project, Future Trees and Purposeful Plants, planted trees in areas such as Madagascar and Indonesia. Mangroves are a particular focus of attention because they have a greater impact on carbon sequestration-most scientists believe that the storage of this element is the main factor leading to global warming and subsequent climate change.

You can choose the specific activity (or inactivity) you want to offset and pay the appropriate amount to offset the carbon caused by it.
