The new Mercedes EQB 350 AMG Line is an eco-friendly drive built for speed

This fully electric SUV is compact, yet mighty in performance.

As more electric vehicle brands are entering the local market in recent years, electric vehicles (EV) are becoming more popular in Singapore.

Electric car brands like Tesla and Polestar have launched their petrol-free models in Singapore, and Mercedes has joined the fray with their recent EV releases. The Mercedes-EQ family — the brand’s electric vehicle subunit — recently launched the EQB, a fully electric version of the popular GLB SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) in Singapore.

A zero-carbon car, the EQB 350 AMG Line is the brand’s second all-electric model launched here. It is also the first and only seven-seater in the compact SUV segment in Singapore, with up to 1,620 litres of boot space, according to the Mercedes-Benz Singapore.

The EQB is also the first Mercedes model that can be reserved through an online reservation system by the car brand.

Claudius Steinhoff, President & CEO of Daimler South East Asia/Mercedes-Benz Singapore says: “The EQB is part of our ever-growing Mercedes-EQ line-up, and it stays true to the foundation that its siblings have laid by offering consumers luxury and efficiency.”

The Mercedes EQB 350 AMG Line packs a punch in terms of power. The car boasts a hefty maximum torque of 520Nm, with a top speed of 160km/h — completing a century sprint in just 6.2 seconds.

For those seeking stability while driving in Singapore’s wet weather, here’s where the 4MATIC will be helpful. T he brand’s all-wheel drive system, which is only found in the EQB 350 AMG Line — provides relentless traction and stability while driving across any terrain.

Design-wise, the EQB features a rugged, sporty exterior that features a stunning new rosé gold trim, while the front air curtains give the car a sporty look and improves the car’s aerodynamics by reducing wind resistance.

The MBUX multimedia screen takes pride of place in the car’s dashboard. The intelligent infotainment screen allows you to select from a multitude of display options — from GPS navigation to car control settings. For those who like to customise your car, you can even adjust the car’s interior strip lighting — there’s over 60 different colour options to choose from.

A nifty feature in sunny Singapore is the car’s pre-entry climate control setting. It basically allows you to turn on your car’s interior air conditioning system without you physically being present in the car. By the time you enter your car after a sweltering hot day, you’ll be able to enjoy the comfort of your perfectly cold car.
