Jeep has just lifted the veil on Avenger, the brand’s first 100% electric car. It will be available in Europe in the coming weeks.

We were impatiently awaiting the first electric Jeep, temporarily baptized baby jeep. We already knew about its design, thanks to the leaks cleverly orchestrated by the American firm, now belonging to Stellantis. The American manufacturer finally reveals some information, starting with its name: Avenger.

The Jeep Avenger will be presented at the Mondial de l’Auto in Paris from October 17, 2022, with a start of reservations in stride. We therefore do not know its price for the moment, but the first copies should be delivered from the beginning of 2023, a priori during the first half of the year.

The design strongly resembles the Jeep Renegade, but brought up to date and with some inspiration taken from the big brother, the Jeep Compass.

This first 100% electric car manufactured by Jeep in Poland will be available in Europe, and in particular in France. This electric compact SUV promises 400 km of theoretical autonomy on the WLTP cycle. Homologation has not yet taken place, and the final figures could then be slightly different. If this figure seems low to you, think again, it can be enough to make long journeys as we indicate in a comparison.

Jeep does not give specific details in the absence of a technical sheet, but announces that the Avenger ” will offer impressive ground clearance, approach and departure angles for its segment, while offering a modern and technologically advanced interior, with plenty of space for people and luggage”. If the official photos do not reveal the interior, the YouTube presentation allows you to see the trunk and part of the cabin.

Inside, there is Android Automotive with a 10.25-inch central screen and a digital instrument cluster: 7 inches at entry level and 10.25 inches on the most expensive versions.

From a technical point of view, the Jeep Avenger should use the e-CMP platform found specifically on the Peugeot e-2008, Opel Mokka-e as well as DS3 Crossback E-Tense and baptized STLA Small since the takeover by Stellantis. We can thus expect a battery with a capacity of around 50 kWh with a power of 100 kW / 136 hp.

According to the website auto news quoting Stellantis’ Antonella Bruno, the Jeep Avenger will feature an all-wheel-drive version, making it the first all-wheel-drive electric car on the STLA Small platform. The length of the car stands at 4,076 mm.

Jeep announces that in 2030, 100% of its offer will be electric in Europe, while in the United States, the manufacturer plans to sell “only” 50% of the electric version on the same date. The Jeep Avenger will also be available in South Korea and Japan, but is not planned for the United States or China.

Jeep will begin production of the Avenger in November, with a projected volume of 110,000 units produced per year. It will also be available in a hybrid version.
