I think that BALMUDA Phone is not a smart phone, but a digital stationery, or an assistant that supports daily life with a calendar, clock, and notepad. I don’t think it will be used as a smart phone.

However, when I really continue to use the BALMUDA Phone, it is easy to take it out of my pocket, so I often take it out to look at SNS and search the map. Of course, if used as a smart phone, the large screen of the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G is more comfortable. However, with the 139-gram palm-sized BALMUDA phone, you can easily take it out even on a crowded train.

Although the 4.9-inch screen is narrow, I don’t think I can’t see the display without scrolling many times. Even if it is a large-screen smart phone, if scrolling according to the timeline of the SNS, it is necessary after all. BALMUDA Phones does this often, and I don't find it annoying. However, when entering characters on the screen of the application, the soft keyboard occupies a considerable screen space, and it is difficult to see the displayed content. Well, this is not enough to get used to.

On the contrary, because the screen size is small, the amount of information displayed at a time is also small, and if the information is sufficient, there is no need to access additional information. In other words, in this respect, you can get an effect close to digital detoxification.

However, because it is easy to take out of your pocket, you will use BALMUDA Phone more frequently than other smart phones. As a result, I feel that I have more time to use my smartphone instead of more time to obtain information.

In addition, if you feel that the narrow screen is cramped when searching and watching videos on BALMUDA Phone, please switch to Galaxy Z Fold3 5G immediately. This is how I use it, so it may not help others.

Therefore, because it is a small screen with a small display volume, it is more difficult to use, which can be said to be the case for terminals that are difficult to grasp and slow to operate. The BALMUDA phone is not slow, and the rounded body feels easy to hold.

Moreover, the scheduler can be said to be a major feature of the original application. It is also very convenient to use. I always use this scheduler when I have time. However, the more you use it, the more you want to use it on a larger screen.

This may be because I use Google Calendar not only for schedules, but also for task management, but in the 1-day display of the BALMUDA Phone schedule, up to 4 schedules can display title names at the same time. If there are 5 or more appointments to be worn at the same time on the calendar, the column will be displayed starting from the fourth one, and clicking on this part will display the title side by side.

It would be great if the scheduler screen can be rotated horizontally, but this is impossible, and then I want to use this scheduler on a larger screen.

Other proprietary applications usually use clock timers. However, since there is a clock app that is easy to use on other smart phones, it seems that this is the overwhelmingly differentiated function of BALMUDA Phone. However, it has a strong sense of simulation visually, and if you use it during busy hours, it may calm your mind.

The most troublesome thing to use is the memo application. The thumbnails are lined up on the timeline. It is easy to take notes in chronological order, but it is difficult to use. When you write only letters in the memo, the beginning of the memo is a 3.5-line thumbnail, so when you quickly check the contents of the memo later, you can intuitively see what was written.

However, if you write the same text every day, similar characters will line up, making it difficult to distinguish. Each memo can be set in 7 colors, but when you are writing a memo in a hurry, you don’t think "because it is planned, so I will turn it into red". As a result, only memos with indistinguishable colors will be used. It is crossed upwards. sometimes.

In addition, I find it troublesome to write notes by entering text on the small screen when in a hurry. The screen is small, but for emergency memos, it may be more convenient to write "Gyunyu" in a memo handwritten with your fingertips. In addition, it will be easier to understand if the handwriting becomes a thumbnail.

Memos are not only a function, but also a point that feels like a waste. In other words, it cannot be linked with other applications and devices. Not using other devices means that you have to copy and paste emails, messages, and other memo applications on the BALMUDA Phone in order to reuse some notes in the future, which is troublesome.

"This memo may just record that period of time", but when I was writing today's agenda, I noticed that the shopping list and housework had become a lot of lines, so I didn't share it with my family. You might think so. I want an automatic sharing function because I think the concept of thumbnail display memo is very good.

Although it is related to this memo app, I found that even if I try to save a screenshot under the "power button + volume button", it is difficult to press two buttons at the same time because the body is round. This is why when you find a store by searching or on the map, many people will take a screenshot of the screen and share or save it.

The power button on the BALMUDA Phone is on the back of the upper right corner of the main unit. It is difficult to press with one hand, and it is also difficult to press with both hands, because it is not the original way to hold the main unit. Like other smartphones, I swipe down from the notification bar to bring up the quick settings panel. I hope there is a "screenshot" there. For some reason, here you can call "Screen Recording" in the settings.

Although I am a little dissatisfied with this, I am still very satisfied overall. There is only one point, which I did not mention in the previous article, that there are strict requirements for battery life. Even if I reduce the time of using the smartphone, it is difficult to use it for a day with a 2500mAh battery.

Initially, I did not put a SIM card in the BALMUDA Phone, but used the network sharing of other smart phones to communicate data via Wi-Fi. Therefore, I don't use it often. In that case, the battery can sometimes be used for 24 hours. However, if it is a waste, I will put in povo's SIM card and start independent operation. I installed the SUICA application and started using SNS applications on Twitter, Facebook, Messenger and Instagram. Even if it is povo, if it is a 5G environment, I will grab 5G.

Since it should not be used to watch SNS all day, I try my best to watch SNS on the host Galaxy Z Fold3 5G, but even lightly used, the battery life is about 11-14 hours. With this, you can recharge in the morning, leave home, and not use it until you return. Especially on the way back, after work and study, I feel comfortable, and finally I can exchange easy information with my family and friends. However, if the battery is only a few percent left at this time, you cannot rest assured to use the BALMUDA Phone.

Of course, I bought the BALMUDA Phone after knowing the 2500mAh battery capacity. I think if the battery is small, I should use a mobile battery. However, in actual use, I think it would be unfashionable to connect the USB cable and mobile phone battery to this "no straight line design" small terminal. You don’t want to insert a mobile battery while traveling.

In this regard, as the second product of BALMUDA Technologies, I would like to see a mobile phone battery and data cable suitable for BALMUDA Phone (currently only black, not suitable for my white model). However, the mobile phone battery does not conform to the concept of BALMUDA Phone, why not come out?

Another rigorous evaluation is the camera. If BALMUDA Phone is a product that allows you to get rid of the rush of using a smartphone, then you should enhance the AI ​​function so that anyone can easily take beautiful photos by starting the camera and pressing the shutter button.

There are currently five modes of "movie", "photo", "cooking", "character" and "night scene", and there are also four modes for taking pictures individually. It may be difficult because it is equipped with Snapdragon 765, but I hope it is a camera that uses Snapdragon 888 and AI, "can shoot the air on the spot without realizing it."

Behind the scenes, smart devices do a lot of work. Is it really a smart product that you don’t know about? In order to realize the concept of BALMUDA Phone, I think it is better to have the best chipset.

You can see reports about this camera on SNS, etc., but when you switch to dining mode, blue and green tend to become stronger. I often take three pictures and say: "First take the standard, then the dining mode, if the color is not good, then take the standard." If you look at this example, it will be easy to understand. First, shoot according to the standard.

Then there is the dining mode. Of course, it is blue. However, I will try to shoot for the time being, "I don't know if this is the case." Finally, I often repeat the task of shooting the standard lens again.

I thought I rarely use the camera because I use the BALMUDA Phone as a secondary machine, but I often put it on the table in the restaurant because the subject is small and it can be erased, so I take pictures immediately after eating.
