The 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS offers two different powertrain and transmission system options. The basic EQS 450+ provides a 329 horsepower electric motor that only powers the rear wheels. The motor can also reduce 419 pound-feet of torque.

The EQS 580 4Matic provides a more powerful dual electric motor that can send 516 horsepower and 631 pound-feet of torque through all four wheels. Both trim levels are equipped with standard 107.8 kWh batteries, with a cruising range of 350 and 340 miles, respectively. Using a DC fast charger, the battery power can reach 80% in 31 minutes. The car’s battery is the first to use Mercedes-Benz’s new thermal management system, which can actively cool and heat the battery for the best charging experience.

The design of the system prevents the battery from degrading over time and increases the charging speed. Mercedes-Benz is also committed to keeping EQS green through production. The carbon-neutral Hedelfingen plant will be fully renewable in 2022. The brand is also looking for ethical suppliers for the key components in the battery to ensure that they use modern non-climatic scarring practices in the extraction process.

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS is a powerful car. Despite its huge size and weight of 5,888 pounds, it is very flexible. On the basis, EQS 450+ reached 60 in 5.5 seconds, and EQS 4Matic even reduced this number to 4 seconds. Although Mercedes-Benz does not intend to make this car a sports car in any way, this number is impressive for a car of this size.

Maximum comfort is the primary goal of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS. Everything in the EQS design improves the comfort and pleasure of passengers. The electric motor is wrapped in sound-proof foam to ensure that even whispers will not enter the car.

EQS also has the lowest drag coefficient among all cars currently on the market, which greatly reduces wind noise. The overall driving experience is unexpected and the S-Class is pragmatic and stable. Although the driving experience is the driving experience of a traditional large car, the suspension is very soft, and consumers will experience body roll when turning. However, most S-class consumers are looking for an extremely comfortable car. For those who wish to graduate to EQS, this should be a painless transition.

The interior of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS is almost otherworldly. The level of technology and attention to internal details are usually only seen by consumers in concept cars. The headline inside is a huge single glass plate, which buryes three digital displays. These displays include a 12.3-inch driver display, a 17.7-inch infotainment system, and a third 12.3-inch passenger infotainment system. These systems can browse the Internet, stream different media, and handle all standard car functions.

The two screens can also be operated independently, which means that the driver can use the navigation and play the radio while the passenger is watching the Netflix series with a Bluetooth headset. There are few physical buttons in EQS, limited to some basic audio controls and hazard indicator buttons. Adjust climate control and various drive settings through infotainment.

In addition to the highly configurable driver display, the driver also needs to contend with the augmented reality display projected onto the windshield. The system is essentially a high-definition color head-up display. The car has three-level automatic driving capabilities, but the US government stipulates that the system is two-level automatic driving, which means that the system restricts users to interstate highways. However, EQS can completely hands-free overtaking, changing lanes, maintaining speed and following navigation on the highway. The system monitors the driver’s retina to ensure that their attention is relatively focused. The same system uses eye tracking technology to show the next move of the car through long digital arrows in the augmented reality projection. The cargo space of the EQS is good for a car of this size, with a trunk of 22 cubic feet and a folded rear seat of 63 cubic feet.
