Police in South Brunswick, New Jersey seek help after 2 years of escape

South Brunswick-Two years later, the township police asked the public to help track down a driver. He hit and killed a local man whose family is well-known in the Greater South Brunswick community.

On the evening of December 13, 2019, around 10 pm, Ronnie VonThun, 49, was hit while riding a bicycle on Highway 522 between Georges Road and Kingston Lane​​

The driver mentioned by the police is believed to be a red Honda Accord. The model from 2018 to 2020 did not stop, but continued to drive westward along Highway 522 towards Highway 1.

The police said that the front end of the car would be damaged.

"The South Brunswick Police Department is seeking to close the case and talk to the driver of the vehicle," the department said in a written statement released on Monday evening.

According to his online obituary, Von Thun is a resident at the junction of the town of Monmouth and works in the field of landscape construction.

"He prefers to help others than to help himself," it said.

The VonThun family owns and operates the VonThun Country Farm Market in South Brunswick and the VonThun Farm in Washington Township, Warren County.
