2022 What kind of car is the Nissan Murano? What does it compare to?

The Murano crossover SUV can accommodate 5 people, with stylish silhouettes and safety technology. It is a competitor to vehicles such as Honda Passport, Ford Edge and Jeep Grand Cherokee.

2022 Is the Nissan Murano a good car/SUV?

It is still the first choice for appearance and value, but the power system is okay, and so is the warranty. We gave it a TCC rating of 6.5 points (out of 10 points). (Read more about how we evaluate cars.)

What's new in the 2022 Nissan Murano?

Murano SV gets a synthetic leather upholstery and heated front seats, as well as an optional midnight black trim package with 20-inch wheels.

Murano has one of the more attractive shapes in the mid-size crossover segment. It created a unique floating roof appearance, copied by others, but no one can wear it so well; the credit is due to a good sense of balance. This balance becomes excessive internally, where convention rules the dash and control.

The same is true under the hood, Murano's 260-horsepower V-6 is equipped with a CVT group to release useful but not exciting power. Murano showed the best performance with good damping riding; steering feel and fuel economy slipped to the bottom half of the to-do list.

In front of them is seat comfort. Murano provides excellent support and space for the front passengers, but the headroom for the rear passengers is significantly reduced, and sunroofs are available. With the rear seats down, the cargo compartment swelled to 67.0 cubic feet; it did a better job at hauling cargo than at hauling, with only a 1,500-pound limit.

Murano ace crash test, all models have automatic emergency braking. However, the surround view camera system and adaptive cruise control system only appear in more expensive versions.

What is the price of the Nissan Murano in 2022?

The basic Murano S, priced at $34,085, is equipped with 18-inch wheels, an 8.0-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and cloth seats. All-wheel drive costs an additional $1,700. We would choose the Murano SV for $37,625, which has electric front seats and parking sensors. You must spend at least $41,000 to get leather and a better Bose speaker.

Where is Nissan Murano manufactured in 2022?

Is the Nissan Murano a good-looking car?

We gave it a score of 6, the appearance is above average, and the floating roof visual skills have worked well for many years. The attractive appearance flows backwards from the intersection of the V-shaped grille, arrow-shaped headlights and black inserts. It passes through fenders and door panels with many complex surfaces, and tapers at the rear and those blacked-out roof pillars. Others imitated the appearance, but Nissan's sense of balance and proportions made the original version the defending champion.

There is less fun inside, and the well-arranged dashboard puts the large controls high up for easy use. However, its style is disappointing, and in some versions with quilted upholstery and darker wood grain trims, its appearance is softer. Good, but it's not as fresh as the cockpits of some Korean SUVs.

Murano people prefer to travel quietly and quickly to the noisy bends of the canyon. Its performance is 6 points, and its well-controlled driving has an additional bonus point.

Is the Nissan Murano 4WD?

It's front-wheel drive until it isn't: Nissan will install any Murano with all-wheel drive for $1,700, but it discourages off-road in a subtle way-there is no off-road drive mode, and no all-terrain tires appear on the order sheet. All this has to do with all-weather traction.

How fast is the Nissan Murano?

Thanks to the 260-horsepower 3.5-liter V-6 connected to the belt and pulley CVT under the hood, its speed is moderate. Murano's curb weight is 3,833 to 4,137 pounds, it won't jump off the line, but it won't be short in the highway pass. Nissan also filled a lot of sound insulation between it and the cabin to ensure a quiet passage. It has low-speed power and can dexterously pass through city traffic, but the rubber response of its CVT does not encourage it.

Every corner has a simple independent suspension-there is no fancy adaptive damping or air springs-Murano has a good driving experience, and is equipped with 18 or 20 inch wheels, it can be without losing the ability Under the circumstances, firmly grasp the ground to eliminate the tire flapping sound. It can handle large bumps well and smooth on wrinkled roads. The steering lacks feeling, but if we have not changed much for so many years on the road, we will also lack feeling.

Nissan has specified a 1,500-pound traction limit for Murano.

Nissan trimmed some headroom from the Murano to make the roof line smoother, which reduces the comfort of the rear seats, even if only a little bit. We scored 7 points for the crossover here and added points for front seat comfort and cargo space.

Those front-seat passengers will get some of the best and most supportive seats in their class. The base model of Murano is covered with fabric, the mid-range model is covered with synthetic leather with power adjustment and heating function, the Murano is made of leather, and the front seats are decorated with platinum cooling. The surrounding space in front provides enough knee and head space, and small objects can store some drinks and smart phones.

The back seat provides approximately 39 inches of legroom, but with the panoramic sunroof, Murano loses a few inches of headroom. It is not as wide as some mid-size crossovers, so two adults are suitable, but three people will complain.

When using the rear seats, Murano can carry 32.1 cubic feet of cargo; when the seat back is folded, the cargo space expands to 67.0 cubic feet.

Nissan used metal trim to polish the Murano in the basic version, and wood grain in the higher-spec models, but the quality impression draws a clear dividing line between the mass market brand and Infiniti's quilted cabin simulation.

How safe is the Nissan Murano?

We gave it a score of 8 due to its excellent crash test score and many standard active safety equipment.

NHTSA gave this crossover five stars overall, and IIHS improved its performance to Top Safety Pick+ status, thanks to the improved headlights. IIHS reports that, unlike some of its competitors, all Murano's headlights perform "good."

Every Murano is equipped with automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring and active lane control. Adaptive cruise control and front parking sensors are suitable for upper trim, as is the surround view camera system. These functions counteract the vehicle’s large blind spots at the upturned rear roof pillars.

Nissan has not yet offered its ProPilot driver assistance system on Murano.

Nissan sells four different trim levels of Murano, front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. It scored 8 points here; its infotainment system score is above average, standard equipment scores 1 point higher, and value for money also scores 1 point higher.

The basic Murano S, priced at $34,085, is equipped with 18-inch wheels, an 8.0-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and cloth seats. All-wheel drive costs an additional $1,700.

Which Nissan Murano should I buy?

Murano SV gets electric front seats, parking sensors and a new standard synthetic leather interior, with a sunroof and black trim kits available. Its cost is US$37,625.

How much does a fully loaded Nissan Murano cost?

Murano SL is priced at more than US$41,000; Platinum is equipped with navigation, softer leather, 11 Bose speakers and a surround-view camera system, but the front-wheel drive price is US$45,635, which is as expensive as some newer SUVs.

Murano's average warranty period is 3 years/36,000 miles.

Is the fuel consumption of Nissan Murano good?

It is comparable to some of its mid-sized cross-industry competitors. EPA rating is 20 mpg city, 28 miles of highway, 23 combined with conventional unleaded fuel, here is 4. Murano lacks hybrid and plug-in drivetrains, which are now common in vehicles ranging from Toyota Venza (39 mpg) to Hyundai Santa Fe (up to 31 miles of electric range).
