ESR claims to have patented its HaloLock wireless charging system as an answer to Apple's new MagSafe products. To this end, the OEM has released the first in-car charger with the functions in question, including the ability to retain an iPhone 12 at pretty much any angle on an extra-thin 7.5W magnetic pad attached to a handy vent-clip. Now, it presents the HaloLock Kickstand Wireless Charger.
This product is designed to remain attached to the back of an iPhone 12-series unit even if it is picked it up and used as normal during charging, just like the MagSafe charger. However, ESR's version also has a fold-away stand, so that an owner can also leave it propped up to view content hands-free if they want. Furthermore, the new HaloLock variant comes in black as well as white.
Then again, ESR has done a second very Apple-like thing in not offering a power brick in this new product's box. There is a complementary cable, which attaches to the charger via a USB type C port, and is also conveniently long at 5ft (1.5m). Then again, the OEM never mentions its wattage in conjunction with its launch.
The ESR HaloLock Kickstand Wireless Charger is now available on Amazon, priced at US$24.99 (correct at time of writing).
