BMW plans to introduce Saturday shifts at its Munich plant in the first quarter of 2022 to meet the high demand for new i4 electric models. The waiting time for electric cars is currently said to be about 9 months, but it will soon climb to a year.

This was reported by the German publication WirtschaftsWoche Reference Company Circle. The Munich-based company clearly hopes to take countermeasures by introducing additional shifts. When asked by a business magazine, BMW reportedly mentioned the high flexibility of its production system. The company explained verbatim: “Therefore, we have the ability to expand production, such as increasing the number of shifts, to meet the gratifyingly high demand.” However, the plan for next year has not yet been finalized, so no details can be provided.

Just over a week ago, BMW reported that it had delivered the first prototypes of the all-electric i4 to customers. Since the end of October, this electric car has been produced at the BMW plant in Munich. This model is an electric car the size of the BMW 3 Series. The core of the BMW model series is electrification. The i4 was launched in November along with the flagship iX SUV.

The i4 is the first fully electric car produced in Munich, as well as the BMW 3 Series sedan, the BMW 3 Series station wagon (equipped with internal combustion engine and hybrid drive), and the BMW M3 and BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé. We have detailed the size and technical data of the model here.

The combination of i4 and iX strengthens BMW's all-electric series consisting of i3, Mini SE and iX3. In the next few years, all-electric versions of the 7 series, X1 and the high-capacity 5 series will follow. As a related ambition, BMW cited the goal of producing all-electric vehicles at every plant in Germany by 2022, and at least one all-electric vehicle will be on the road in approximately 90% of today’s market segments by 2023. By 2030, the BMW Group hopes to increase the share of all-electric vehicles in its global sales to at least 50%.

Comparison of Model 3 and i4: – Model 3 is lighter in weight – Model 3 has a greater range – Model 3 has better acceleration – Model 3 has a higher top speed – Model 3 has higher charging power, 250kw – Model 3 has more advanced methods Software-Model 3 has a front luggage compartment-Model 3 is cheaper-Model 3 has a wider battery warranty

Germans still buy BMW...I guess it is a badge.

Compare i4 with Model 3: – i4 has a 360/bird’s eye/top view camera – i4 has a classic driver’s screen behind the steering wheel – i4 has a head-up display – i4 has Android Auto / Apple CarPlay – i4 has cameras and sensors /Lidar-based assistance is better than Tesla Autopilot in Europe-i4 has an intuitive iDrive UI

Lidar is dead! Sorry to disappoint you!

The Germans are very nationalistic when it comes to cars. This is why very few American cars are sold in Germany. In the next few years, with the accelerated development of public transportation, daily rental or travel rental will become the norm, and fewer people will own a car.

This is terrible for the German economy, because the symbol of its manufacturing industry is automobiles. If fewer people drive and own cars, what will happen to the Germans?

Guess what... There are still many people who buy cars and don't want to use the sub-menu of the infotainment system to open the glove box...

– Model 3 – Damn ugly appearance – Model 3 – Inside: wooden board with ipad

Casio watches can keep time better than Rolex watches. Which one would you choose?

You overlooked the most important part. Tesla's new car quality ranks 31st among 33 automakers. A BMW without a glass roof will fly away or catch fire

The BMW i4 is a car, not an ipad with wheels

Although I had a $1,000 Model 3 pre-order from the second day, I also tested the Model 3 Performance, and I never bought it (probably never). why? It disappointed me in many ways. – Model 3 has been postponed here for a few years – Model 3’s interior look and feel are cheap – Model 3’s touch screen user interface is not as good as real buttons when driving (this is scientifically proven) – Model 3 is not a hatchback – The handling and comfort of Model 3 are not impressive-the price of Model 3 is much higher than promised (I bought my own BMW 6 GT at the price of Model 3 LR last year).

The i4 m50 is the first electric car I seriously consider buying. Yes, this is a badge (I am not a German), because the BMW badge does mean a real premium car in many ways. BMW is a driver's machine. – Delivery of i4 started 3 months ahead of schedule – i4 is more spacious – i4 is a hatchback (more roomy, more practical luggage) – i4 has an i-drive user interface, one of the best in the industry – i4 has real High-quality interior-i4 has 11 paints and 12 interior options-i4 is equipped with ventilated seats

The difference between a few kilometers (miles) and a few tenths of a second? Who really cares about this?

In the absence of significant price differences, BMW provides you with more choices and a higher price/performance ratio.

This is why many people prefer i4. For me, this is not the time for electric cars, and it makes no sense economically.

Believe me, this is the media. Tesla is like the Rolex of electric cars. I can't believe BMW or any other car manufacturer, Tesla has been manufacturing these cars for a long time and knows how to play cards correctly.

Why should you spend money on a first-generation car from another manufacturer, but the price is lower. Just look at the value of the face?

This is not to look different, but to enjoy this experience. To be honest, owning a Tesla is an incredible experience for me. I have switched from BMW X6.

i3 is a good start for the dam. The paint quality is far better than that of Tesla on BMW. BMW is a car instead of an ipad with wheels. There is no head-up display on Tesla! It is dangerous to have to bow your head and leave your Tesla trip quickly.

If Tesla is like Rolex, then the electric cars of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and Porsche are like Patek Philippe.

Tesla will eventually be killed by smarter and larger foreign manufacturers. U.S. business as usual. .

The design and appearance are very helpful, dear friends
